China to open visa-free travel for citizens of six countries


Stay in the country under the visa-free regime will be limited to 15 days.
Citizens of France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia will be able to travel to China without visas. This is reported by POLITICO.
Visa-free regime implies staying on the territory of China for 15 days during the year. The visa-free regime will begin to operate on 1 December.
China has decided to apply the unilateral visa-free policy to more countries on a trial basis, which involves extending the visa-free regime to travellers holding regular passports of six countries, namely France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Malaysia," Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning said.
She stressed that foreigners for business, tourism, family visit and transit will be able to enter the country visa-free.
European countries welcomed China's decision, and Berlin expressed hope that the same visa-free decisions will be taken in relation to citizens of all European countries.
