Russian troops are preparing for a large-scale offensive on the front.

The Russian troops are expected to attack in late spring and early summer. The strategic direction for the enemy is Pokrovsk, and an advance on Chasov Yar in Donetsk Region cannot be ruled out. This was stated by the head of the Main Directorate of Intelligence (GUR) of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Kirill Budanov, in an interview with the German TV channel ARD.

According to him, there will be no serious changes on the front until the Russian summer offensive begins. However, he described the situation as controlled, although he admitted that it was difficult.

The situation is quite difficult, but it is under control," said the head of the GUR.

At the same time, Kirill Budanov did not rule out a Ukrainian offensive this year. However, he did not elaborate on this topic, specifying that the responsibility for this area lies with the AFU General Staff.

According to the General Staff, the town of Chasov Yar in Donetsk Region remains under the control of the Ukrainian army. At the same time, the toughest fighting continues in the areas of Pervomayskiy and Vodyanoye, as well as east of Chasov Yar, where the enemy is trying to break through the AFU defence.
