Budanov originally congratulated on the Day of Military Intelligence (video)

Ukraine celebrates Military Intelligence Day on 7 September. Kirill Budanov published a video where he blows out candles on a cake and at that moment the sound of an explosion is heard. Throughout the video Budanov remained silent.

The head of the Defence Ministry's GUR wrote that Ukrainian intelligence is celebrating this day, "in defiance of Russia's criminally murderous, terroristically destructive aggression."

He also promised that the Russians would answer for the war crimes committed against Ukrainians.

Budanov thanked each intelligence officer for their service, for everything they do for the Ukrainian victory, for their professionalism, steadfastness, courage and sacrifice.
