"White Angels" save children with the help of an armoured "capsule" (video, photos)
Donetsk Region police chief Ruslan Osipenko has handed over an armoured evacuation capsule from his Volyn colleagues to a group working in the Bakhmut direction. the "capsule" has already helped save the lives of three children.
This was reported by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine.
When the police reached the desired address in the settlement of Severnoe Toretska community, another shelling began. Having waited out the arrivals, "White Angels" searched for a mother and a child, who at that time was running unattended in a cornfield.
Little Vika and Kirill from New York were evacuated overnight for safety reasons. Both families were successfully transported to the shelter. Further resettlement of people is being handled by the Donetsk Regional Military Administration together with volunteers.
The Donetschyna police are ready and able to provide any assistance, especially with regard to evacuation. We are grateful to our colleagues, the special forces of Volyn, who found an opportunity and handed over a specialised vehicle. Police units "White Angel" work under shells and constantly need to update the transport, which after numerous shelling is out of order, - said Ruslan Osipenko.
Now about 300 children remain in Toretska community, where a mandatory evacuation has been announced. Almost daily, the police are accepting applications from those willing to leave.
