White Angel group broke through to Ugledar with humanitarian aid (video, photo)
The White Angel police team managed to deliver generators and 185 food packages to residents between the two shellings.
Law enforcers travelled to Ugledar by field routes through the zone of fire control of the Russian troops. This was reported by the press service of the Donetsk Region police.
The day before the raid Ugledar was subjected to 26 enemy shelling. They hit those locations where there are ordinary civilians, - said the head of the Volnovakha district police department Andrey Drumov, who led the mission.
At the entrance to the city, the Russians opened fire on the crew, but the police managed to drive into Ugledar. The law enforcers were met by a destroyed nine-storey building, which has been smouldering for 10 days since the explosion. The neighbouring house was hit 5 times, but people continue to live in it.
Residents lead a predominantly basement lifestyle. For their needs "white angels" brought two generators, as well as food. The women saw the police officers off with words of gratitude and asked them to take care of themselves.
The way back was also not easy - the enemy was again aiming at the column. But "the crane passed" - that's how the police officers reported on the fulfilment of the risky task over the radio.
The survival of Ugledar residents largely depends on the courage and professionalism of law enforcers who deliver necessary things to the destroyed city.
