Arestovich predicted when the Armed Forces of Ukraine will go on the offensive

Aleksey Arestovich, adviser to the head of the President's Office, believes that the Ukrainian defenders will launch a counteroffensive in the second half of July or August, when the Armed Forces of Ukraine receive a sufficient amount of weapons from the West. This opinion was expressed by the adviser to the head of the OP in an interview for DW .

Only after the counter-offensive begins , as weapons arrive in sufficient quantities, so that we form at least 4-5 full-fledged brigades that can go on the offensive. In terms of pace, this is the second half of July or August,” he said.

Arestovich also pointed out that the Russian army is running out of long-range missiles, because there, probably, in order to save money, they began to use medium-range missiles. According to him, the occupiers are coming close to the zone of destruction of the Ukrainian air defense.

There was a launch of missiles in Odessa and most of them were shot down. But one arrived. And when they figured it out, it turned out that it was X59. These missiles are characterized by the fact that they have a maximum range of less than 300 km; these are medium-range aviation missiles. And this raises the question - either they are experiencing them, although they are 1975-1979. production ... Or they run out of missiles of another class, long-range missiles, and they are forced to use these. And these are dangerous because they have to come close to the border of our air defense. With a high probability, they began to save missiles, - said Arestovich.

Speaking about what the enemy is seeking, he noted that the Russian occupiers have set their sights on several regions of Ukraine and regional centers.

The strategic plan is to reach the administrative borders of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions. Capture the entire Kherson, partly Zaporozhye region, enter Zaporozhye and Nikolaev, which will create the prerequisites for a further offensive to capture the Dnieper and Odessa. How much effort and time they will need to concentrate troops capable of solving this problem is unknown, but they are not going to stop, - said Arestovich.

He stressed that the ability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend themselves and thwart the plans of the enemy is completely dependent on the military assistance of Western allies.

In his opinion, long-range rocket artillery is capable of radically changing the situation in the theater of operations, but everything depends on its quantity and the ammunition that will arrive.
