The United Nations Refugee Agency (UNHCR) is unable to contact some of its staff in Mariupol.

This was announced on Wednesday, March 30, by the organization's high commissioner, Filippo Grandi.

Some managed to get out. Some are inside and we can't contact them at the moment. These are my colleagues,” he told CNN in an interview.

Grandi called for guarantees that there would be no fighting in order to draw evacuation corridors from the city.

This is one worker. We have not been able to reach this member of the group for more than a week, UNHCR public relations officer in Ukraine Victoria Andriyevskaya told CNN on Wednesday.
