Lawyer Masi Nayem, brother of ex-People's Deputy Mustafa Nayem, was wounded in the head during the fighting in the Donbass. At the moment, he is being taken to the Dnieper for an operation. This was announced by the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov .

Masse Nayem is seriously wounded and is being taken to the hospital,” said the director, who is also fighting the invaders in the ranks of the Ukrainian army.

According to preliminary information, Nayem's operation will be performed at the Mechnikov Regional Clinical Hospital by Professor Andrey Sirko, Head of the Department of Cerebral Neurosurgery.

Ukrainian politician and journalist Mustafa Nayem, a former member of the Verkhovna Rada, and his lawyer brother Masi Nayem are from Afghanistan. Mustafa was born in Kabul in 1981, his brother three years later, in 1984.

The boys' mother died 10 days after the birth of their younger brother, and their father, Naim Naiem, served as the Minister of Education of Afghanistan, was responsible for the construction of all educational facilities in the country, tells Present Time.

At the height of the war in 1987, Naim Nayem left to study in Moscow and planned to return to Afghanistan. But he met Valentina Kolechko and instead decided not to stay in Afghanistan, but to leave for the USSR and transport his sons there.

The family finally left Afghanistan in 1989, when the USSR withdrew its troops. First, the father and sons went to Moscow, and a year later, in 1990, to Kyiv.
