A Somali mercenary surrendered to the AFU

Mohamed Adila, a Somali citizen who fought in the Russian army, has surrendered to the Ukrainian Defence Forces. He complained about abuse in the Russian army. This was reported by volunteer and war correspondent Roman Bochkala on 11 January.

The captured told that at least three citizens of India serve in the 3rd separate motorised rifle unit.

Foreign mercenaries lived and performed combat tasks together with Russian servicemen. They do not speak Russian and have not taken Russian courses.

They were systematically bullied and humiliated by Russian servicemen on the basis of ethnic and racial differences. They had no previous experience of service in law enforcement agencies.
