Donbas residents offered free evacuation to Zhytomyr region

Russian troops are constantly shelling settlements in Donbas, destroying homes, infrastructure and killing people.



Authorities of the Donetsk OVA have said that residents of Donbas can evacuate to Zhytomyrska for free. This was reported on the Donetsk OVA page.

They stressed that the move was mandatory because it was dangerous to stay in frontline towns and villages.

According to the decision of the Governmental Coordination Staff, compulsory evacuation will be redirected from Cherkasy region to Zhytomyr region starting from April 18, 2023," the statement says.

It is noted that hostilities are intensifying and civilians must leave the region as soon as possible.

Authorities are asked to note that evacuation to Zhytomyr region will be carried out by a special train, once every four days on even-numbered days.

In order to travel to the safe region for free you need to:

  • leave a request by phone 0988903318 or 0662856290, for evacuation of seriously ill and disabled people please call: 0997104872, 0993115336, 0993115314, 0960802
  • get to the collection point, from where there will be free transportation to the evacuation train in Pokrovsk;
  • to settle in the Zhytomyr region.

In Zhytomyr region, places of accommodation are being organized for residents of Donetsk region, and vacant private houses in rural areas are being picked up. Housing is provided free of charge. Among the social guarantees are humanitarian, medical and psychological assistance.

The authorities emphasize that the state takes care of the financial support for the move.
