Zelensky to be invited to NATO summit

The Spanish government intends to invite Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the NATO summit, which will be held in Madrid on June 29 and 30.

About this writes the publication Europa Press , citing sources in the Spanish government.

The summit will be attended by 40 to 50 foreign delegations at the level of heads of state or government. Among them are NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, 30 member states of the Alliance, four invited countries of the Asia-Pacific region (Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea), four EU countries that are not members of NATO, as well as the heads of the European Council and the European Commission .

Also, an official invitation to participate in the Madrid summit will be sent to Ukraine, although the participation of its President Volodymyr Zelensky will not be known until the last minute, as it will be determined by the course of the war and the opportunity to leave the country, notes Europa Press.

At the same time, the final program of the NATO summit is almost ready. It should adopt the first updated Strategic Concept since 2010, where, in particular, it will revise relations with Russia.
