Zelensky said Russia should be forced to end the war it started against Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has said that the only effective way to force Russia to stop the war it started against Ukraine is to increase international pressure, in particular, sanctions on Russian oil and companies that continue to cooperate with Moscow. He said this in his video message.

The world must understand: it is precisely the pressure that has already once forced Russia to start negotiations. The same can force it to be realistic in further dialogue," Zelensky said.

According to him, the Kremlin is now trying to create an illusion as if sanctions and restrictions do not affect its policy. However, the reality is that it is economic pressure that can play a decisive role in bringing the end of the war closer.

Recall that the bill, in particular, providing for the introduction of 500 per cent duties on imports from countries that buy Russian oil, gas, uranium and petroleum products, was introduced in the U.S. Congress in April by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham and Democratic Senator Richard Blumenthal.
