Zelensky and European leaders to hold conversation with Trump: details

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky along with top European leaders will hold an important phone conversation with US President Donald Trump on 13 August - just two days before his scheduled meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin. This is reported by Bloomberg.
According to German government spokesman Stephan Cornelius, US Vice President J.D. Vance will also take part in the conversation. Among the European participants will be German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, French President Emmanuel Macron, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, as well as the heads of government of Italy, Poland and Finland.
The main topics of the talks will be discussion of possible further measures of pressure on Russia, as well as preparation for potential peace talks, taking into account territorial disputes and security issues.
According to The Guardian, the conversation is scheduled for noon GMT (13:00 British Summer Time, 14:00 Central European Time). A separate conversation between Trump and Vance is scheduled to follow. The European leaders will have another phone conversation on the same day to discuss next steps.
