Will Ukraine receive additional arms from the US: Pentagon's response

The United States will send Ukraine another package of military aid. The US Defence Ministry has confirmed that President Donald Trump made the decision.

As the Pentagon noted, the provision of additional weapons is linked to the need to ensure that Ukrainians are able to defend themselves against the ongoing aggression while the USA works to establish sustainable peace.

At the direction of President Donald Trump, the US Department of Defence is sending additional defensive weapons to Ukraine so that Ukrainians can defend themselves while we seek a lasting peace and an end to bloodshed," an official statement said.

At the same time, the agency stressed that the USA will continue to monitor the balance of military supplies abroad, remaining committed to the "America First" course promoted by the current president.

Suspension and review of aid

We shall remind you that on 2 July, foreign media reported about the temporary suspension of deliveries of missiles for air defence systems and other ammunition to Ukraine. Later, this information was confirmed by the US Department of State, adding that Kiev had been notified in advance.

on 8 July, White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt said that this was a standard procedure for reviewing the Pentagon's stockpile of weapons. According to her, the deliveries will continue after this review is completed.
