Ukraine is considering different scenarios for developments at the Zaporizhzhya NPP and is ready to respond quickly.

This was reported by the press service of the Ukrainian Ministry for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

A meeting of the interdepartmental crisis headquarters was held, the main purpose of which is to analyse the situation at the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP.

At the meeting it was noted that currently one of the units continues to operate in "hot shutdown" mode. The occupiers are deliberately blocking its transfer to "cold shutdown" mode. This significantly increases the risk of a terrorist threat at the nuclear facility," it said.

Therefore, all emergency services are prepared for a possible development. Necessary protocols for joint actions have also been developed.

To work them out in detail, the crisis headquarters decided to hold relevant large-scale exercises involving central, regional and local services," the ministry added.

Earlier, the head of the Ukrainian intelligence service said that the Russians had approved a plan of an attack on the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant. According to Budanov, the occupiers have mined the cooling pool and four power units of the plant. However, the head of Energoatom reassures that in case of detonation of the cooling pond the water level will go down gradually. And at the moment the water level is sufficient to meet the needs of the plant.
