Hungary may leave the EU

The government of the Czech Republic presiding over the EU admits a possible exit of Hungary from the bloc. This was stated by the Minister of the Czech Government for European Affairs Mikulas Beck in an interview with the Czech radio station iROZHLAS .

At the same time, he pointed out that there is no official information, much less a decision on this matter, however, the actions of the Hungarian authorities indicate that the country will have to move on without the European community. He also pointed out that Hungary is often in the minority when it comes to political issues.

Unity in the European Union has never been and never will be the unity of a single voice – it will always be the unity of the many. The unity of many voices that are in dialogue with each other, arguing, but in the end finding mutual agreement on key issues, he said.

Beck added that in the coming months he would try to find common denominators with the representatives of Hungary, and also pointed to a positive signal - Budapest's refusal to remove three Russian oligarchs from the EU sanctions list: Alisher Usmanov, Petr Aven and Viktor Rashnikov.

Speaking about the future of Hungary, the Minister of the Czech Government for European Affairs noted that she had come a long way on the way to the EU and now she was on the edge of the abyss and "it depends only on her whether she will jump into the abyss or be able to walk along the edge."

He clarified that, in theory, we can talk about the exit of Hungary from the European Union.

In recent years, the Hungarian authorities have often criticized the European Union, but expressed support for the ruling regime in Russia.
