Valery Zaluzhny told how many Ukrainian servicemen died at the beginning of the war

Nearly 9,000 servicemen have died in the war against Russia since 24 February.
This was announced by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, during the forum "Defenders. Roll Call".
Not only military personnel and not only those who took up arms take part in this war, but our little children, who are not to blame for anything, except that they were born here and at this particular time. They do not understand what is happening. Still, they need protection near Soledar, Bakhmut, Velika Novoselka, and here, because their father went to the front and, perhaps, is one of those almost 9 thousand heroes who died - said Zaluzhny.
In April, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, in an interview with CNN, said that 2,500-3,000 Ukrainian soldiers had died since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
