On March 24, the first full-fledged exchange of prisoners of war took place between Ukraine and the Russian Federation during a full-scale war.

The exchange took place on the orders of President Zelensky.

Also today, we sent 11 Russian civilian sailors to the Russians, whom we rescued from a sunken ship near Odessa. As a result of this exchange, 19 Ukrainian civilian sailors are returning home from the Sapphire rescue ship, who were captured by the invaders while trying to take our military from Zmeiny Island, - added Irina Vereshchuk, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories.

It is reported that on March 19, the Ukrainian military captured 562 Russian invaders.
