Recall that the chance to host Eurovision 2023 fell to Ukraine after winning the competition of the Kalush Orchestra team. However, our country can also transfer the right to host an international show to any other participating country. The Eurovision Organizing Committee does not exclude the fact that due to the war in Ukraine, the contest will have to be moved to another state.
Most often music competition winners became representatives of Ireland - 7 times, including 3 times in a row (1992, 1993, 1994). Six times the contest was won by representatives of Sweden. Representatives of France, Luxembourg and Great Britain have become winners of the competition five times each.
The Eurovision Song Contest 1956, the first song contest, was organized by the European Broadcasting Union. It took place on May 24, 1956 in Lugano (Switzerland) in the hall of the small theater Kursaal.
