According to preliminary information provided by Israeli services, there may be Ukrainians in the captivity of Hamas militants

The Ukrainian ambassador to Israel, Yevhen Korniychuk, said this on air of the telethon "Public. Resistance" was told by the Ukrainian ambassador to Israel, Yevhen Korniychuk.

It is worth understanding that we do not know the whereabouts of a certain number of people, and it is not excluded that some of them may be in captivity. This has been reported to us by the Israeli services, but this is not yet proven information. I ask not to make a furore, but most likely it corresponds to reality," Korniychuk said.

Ukrainian diplomats, he stressed, are working closely with the Israeli police to track down our citizens. For this purpose, they use fingerprints, DNA and the like.

The diplomat also noted that of the seven dead Ukrainians, only one citizen had a Ukrainian passport.

This means that the other six lived in Israel permanently and also had an Israeli passport. This in no way demeans their rights as Ukrainian citizens, just for your understanding that one traveller was unfortunately killed. The rest are locals," the ambassador said.

As previously reported Socialportal, the day before it became known that the number of dead Ukrainians in Israel has increased to seven people.
The speaker of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleh Nikolenko said that the consuls have established their personal data, liaise with relatives and take measures to repatriate the bodies.
