More than 6 million people have fled Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.

The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has reported 8,189 civilian deaths or injuries in Ukraine since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion - 3,838 dead and 4,351 injured. According to Radio Liberty .

At the same time, the organization notes that the real figures can be much higher.

Because there is a delay in obtaining information from some places where intense fighting continues, and many reports from places where information about civilian casualties comes from still need to be confirmed, the message says.

This concerns, for example, the settlements of Mariupol (Donetsk region), Izyum (Kharkiv region) and Popasna (Luhansk region), where there have been numerous cases of death or injury of civilians.

They are subject to further verification and are not included in official statistics to date, the UNHCHR noted.

The majority of recorded civilian deaths due to the war were reported to have been caused by the use of wide-area explosive weapons, including heavy artillery and multiple rocket launcher fire, as well as rocket and air strikes.

The United Nations Refugee Agency reported on May 12 that more than 6 million people have fled Ukraine since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion.
