Roe deer survivors of Kakhovka hydropower plant explosion reach Odessa region

The animal managed to survive in the open sea.
A roe deer washed up on an "island" of rubbish in Odessa region. The surviving animal, as eyewitnesses say, most likely came from the Kherson region. This is reported by UNIAN.
They noted that the animal was probably a victim of the explosion of the Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station and had been drifting in the water for a long time.
The eyewitnesses noticed the roe deer when it got out on the bank and tried to help it, but the animal got scared and went back into the water. At the second attempt the roe deer made it to the shore on its own.
The bank of the river is steep and difficult to reach. The wild roe deer did not make any human contact, jumped from the islet into the sea and swam away. Then, having calmed down, it did make it to the shore," eyewitnesses reported.
The animal then ran off unhindered.
It ran away to Odessa steppe. Probably came from Kherson region, - said the witnesses.
On the night of June 6 the Russian military blew up the dam of Kakhovskaya hydroelectric power station. The flood zone included protected lands inhabited by various animals, including red-listed animals.
