- Interior Ministry says how long it will take to demine Ukraine

Until the war is over, it is impossible to say exactly how long it will take to completely demine Ukraine. However, the Interior Ministry predicts that 10 years are needed for 80 per cent of the territory.
This was stated by Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko in an interview with Censor.net.
According to him, Ukraine needs specialised equipment and personnel for demining, thanks to which the work can be completed sooner.
Of course, we do not want to allow the territories to be demined for 25 or 70 years, because the economy must work, people must return to their homes, work on the land. There must be light, there must be gas," Klimenko said.
However, there are not enough forces at the moment, because many deminers are already at the front line. Also, some of the workers are now serving in the Armed Forces
Klymenko added that with the necessary technical equipment it will be possible to demine 80% of the territories of our country in 10 years.
