The Defence Ministry has told whether new female medics are now needed on the frontline

From the 1st of October, female military conscripts must become registered at the military registration office.
At this time, there is no need for additional female medics at the front. Their enrolment in the military register does not mean that all of them will be sent to the front line at once. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Anna Malyar, Ukrinform writes.
She noted that all female medics should be registered for military service, but at the same time "there is no need to send everyone to the front line at once".
Malyar pointed out that the registration is a fulfilment of the law that was adopted by the Verkhovna Rada.
The General Staff then and now assures that there is no need for women of these specialties directly at the front, and I will add that registration does not mean mobilisation," the deputy minister said.
She also stressed that women are sent to the front only with their consent.
That is, even if a woman is a servicewoman, the 5,000 who are on the front line are women who have given their consent to this, - said Malyar.
We will remind, the Parliament adopted amendments to the law on mobilisation preparation and mobilisation. According to them, women who have a medical or pharmaceutical speciality are subject to compulsory military registration. This should be done from 1 October this year.
