Number of fresh graves increased in Mariupol - City Hall
The city has been under Russian occupation since almost the first days of the war.
The number of new burials in Mariupol in sector 21 of the Starokrymsk city cemetery is growing. This was reported by the Mariupol City Council.
Fresh graves have been recorded quite recently. According to officials, this may indicate an increase in mortality in the Russian-occupied locality, as the situation with medical care there continues to deteriorate.
The lack of specialists and modern equipment leads to the fact that people do not receive the necessary treatment and qualified assistance. This is what the Russians have brought to our peaceful city - death, pain and grief," the city council stressed.
The mayor's office noted that the death rate in the city continues to be record high and reminded that at the end of last year more than 10 thousand new burials were recorded in Mariupol. At that time, satellite images showed that most of the new graves were dug in the cemetery in the Stary Krym settlement.
At the same time, officials suggest that the city's actual death toll is far from what is known.
More than 22,000 people have died in the city. However, this figure may be several times higher," the city council added.
