In the Legion "Freedom of Russia" explained the pause taken

The leadership of the Freedom Legion has not yet decided on a new attack on the territory of the Russian Federation, but there will be such attacks. This was stated in an interview with UNIAN by Oleksiy Baranovskyy, a communications adviser to the Russian opposition and the Russian Freedom Legion.

He also noted that the main goal of the formed military association is - the overthrow of Putin's regime in Russia.

We have taken a tactical pause. Now the main task is to increase the number of our ranks. After the campaigns in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation there was a huge surge, there were many applications from those wishing to join the legion. But the process of processing these applications is very slow, because among the volunteers there may be people exiled by the Russian security services," said Baranovsky.

He emphasised that everyone who tries to become a legionnaire is thoroughly checked, including through a lie detector. The documents of volunteers are also checked.

Recall, the Legion "Freedom of Russia" in May - early June this year raided the territory of the Russian Federation, occupying border villages in the Belgorod region of the Russian Federation and engaged in combat with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. It was formed in March 2022 to defend Ukraine from the Russian aggressor. It is part of the International Legion of the TRO of Ukraine. The exact number of warriors in the Legion is not disclosed.
