- Interior Ministry minister killed in helicopter crash in Kiev region


A total of 18 people are known to have died so far.
This was reported by the head of the National Police, Igor Klymenko.
As of now, a total of 18 people are known to have died as a result of the incident. 3 of them were children. 9 people were on board the helicopter.
22 injured are in hospital, 10 of whom are children.
The National Police reported that the Interior Ministry's leadership was killed. Among the dead are Interior Minister Denis Monastyrski, his first deputy Yevgeniy Enin and State Secretary Yuriy Lubkovych.
The helicopter itself belonged to the State Emergency Service.
All relevant and specialized services are working at the site. Inspection of the accident site is still ongoing.
It should be reminded that this morning in Brovary city of Kyiv region the helicopter fell down near the kindergarten - the fire broke out. At the time of the tragedy, there were children and employees in the kindergarten. At the moment everyone has been evacuated.
