Occupiers in Kherson region deliberately deface Ukrainian passports

In order to strengthen passportization in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson region, the occupiers are deliberately damaging Ukrainian passports.

This was reported by the Centre for National Resistance.

According to our underground, such an unofficial order was issued by the occupation administration of the Russians in the temporarily occupied territories of Kherson Region. According to which, the Russian military must inflict deliberate mechanical damage on Ukrainian passports," the CNS reported.

It is noted that in order to speed up passportization, the Russian leadership is putting pressure on the occupation leadership and WTO collaborators. At the same time, the Russians are changing their approach to passportization to a more aggressive one.

The occupiers are giving the Russian passport the status of a document for survival and for solving the least social and domestic needs. For example, from leaving the cities, to medical services, which effectively puts the local population in circumstances of insurmountable force," the report said.

As a reminder, Ukrainian officials have different views on whether Ukrainians should change their passports in the occupation. In particular, the human rights ombudsman advises taking Russian passports to survive. According to Iryna Vereshchuk, Ukrainians should not take Russian documents.
