GUR told how many Russian Iskanders are near the Ukrainian border
Most of the missiles that Russia directs at Ukrainian civilian and military facilities are shot down by air defence.
Russia has deployed 46 launchers of the Iskander missile system on its border with Ukraine to attack Ukraine, the deputy head of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, Vadym Skibitskyy, has said at the Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting. This was reported by the deputy head of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry, Vadym Skibitskyy, at the Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting, Interfax-Ukraine has reported .
He pointed out that the Russians used these missiles to hit Ukrainian cities on 8 September.
Skibytskyy noted that the Russian Federation uses missiles to destroy, first of all, civilian objects, trying to inflict maximum damage to the Ukrainian economy and to intimidate the country's population.
Skibytskyy stressed that the Russian Federation actively uses aviation against Ukrainian troops, although it is afraid of Ukraine's powerful air defence system, which has already proved its effectiveness.
He pointed to the high "shoot-down rate" of Russian missiles.
We thank our partners for the latest weapons that have been transferred to our state, and they are effective, they make it possible to defend our state," the GUR representative said.
