ZSU General Staff says Russian casualties exceed 100,000

According to a report on the morning of 22 December by the Ukrainian General Staff, Russian military losses exceeded 100,000.

Yesterday, the General Staff estimated these losses at 9,740.

The General Staff stated:

To date, in nearly 10 months, Russia has already lost more than 100,000 personnel, 3,000 tanks and another 6,000 or so armoured vehicles in Ukraine.

Estimates of Russian losses by outside observers are a little more modest, but also impressive, with the BBC Russian Service suggesting that Russian army and Rosgvardia casualties in Ukraine could be more than 20,000 and that Russia's total irrecoverable losses (i.e. killed, seriously wounded and missing) could be at least 90,000.

As far as the situation on the front is concerned, according to a recent report by the Ukrainian General Staff, the front line has not changed significantly over the past 24 hours.

Over the past 24 hours, the Air Defence Forces carried out 14 strikes against areas where the occupier's personnel, weapons and military equipment were concentrated. Our defenders also shot down an enemy Forpost UAV and two more Lancet-3 UAVs," the General Staff said.
