In Estonia, the use of enemy symbols in support of Russian aggression against Ukraine will be punished.

On the Estonian border, the border guards began to be more attentive to the symbols that symbolize the Russian occupiers and that some visitors to the country use. We are talking about the Latin letters "Z" and "V". If necessary, people with such symbols will have their visas cancelled. The ERR portal writes about this.

The Police and Border Guard Department does not allow, in particular, to publicly display St. George ribbons and other symbols used by the Russian Federation in the war against Ukraine, such as the Latin letters "Z" and "V," the message says.

The Department added that as of April 8, visas were canceled for several violators.

We pay attention to different things: the infamous letter "Z", St. George's ribbons, elements of uniforms of the Russian army. Such things always attract our attention and lead to the fact that the owner of such symbols is sent for additional verification and a conversation is held with him. During this conversation. it turns out how to proceed with him, - explained the head of the border checkpoint in southeastern Estonia, Peter Maran.

Recall that the Estonian government approved amendments to the criminal law, which will punish the use of enemy symbols in support of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Earlier, Estonia stated that it would not issue residence permits and work and business permits to Russians. According to the head of the Estonian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the decision was made in order to avoid contradicting the sanctions against Russia. Back in March, Estonia suspended the issuance of visas to Russians.

Already existing residence permits and work permits will not be cancelled. Citizens who have them will be able to apply for their extension or change of the basis for stay in accordance with the law. In case of violation of the laws of the country, permits will be canceled. In addition, it is allowed to continue traveling in Estonia as part of family migration or for humanitarian reasons.
