There are almost no regions left in Ukraine where the Russians did not fire at educational institutions.

From September 1, Ukraine plans to resume education in schools where there are shelters. This was announced by the first lady of Ukraine Elena Zelenskaya, writes UNIAN.

She also said that the Russians fired on schools in almost all regions of Ukraine.

In Kharkov, fifty educational institutions were completely destroyed, 372 were damaged. More than four hundred - in Donetsk. A total of 1888 educational institutions suffered from bombing and shelling. 180 of them were completely destroyed, Zelenskaya said.

The first lady said that where schools survived, but were occupied, Russia is carrying out an educational genocide - it prohibits studying according to Ukrainian curricula, interrogates teachers, forces them to switch to Russian with weapons.

The invaders seize the history of Ukraine, the Ukrainian language, Ukrainian literature, forbid any mention of Ukraine in schools. In some schools, the school year was extended until September, forcing our children to learn Russian, history, and literature,” she noted.

Schools in the occupied territories did not hold Ukrainian ceremonial assemblies.

I know that not a single holiday online will replace the jokes of friends with whom you stand on the line for children, and for parents a moment of pride when your first grader carries the bell. Therefore, we are working on an option to resume education in schools where there are shelters from the first of September. Therefore, at a meeting with UNICEF, they discussed a national campaign to restore education and rebuild destroyed schools. The last call for our children sounded online, echoing the sirens. I would like to hope that the first one, in September, will sound within the walls of native schools, - she noted.

Schools are now being audited in Ukraine to check if there are shelters in the buildings where children, teachers and other employees of the educational institution can be during enemy shelling.
