Berlin allowed to raise Ukrainian flags, but not for long

On the eve of the authorities of the federal state of Berlin banned the flags of Ukraine and other Ukrainian symbols at actions during commemorative events on May 8 and 9.
However, the Berlin authorities softened their rhetoric and allowed Ukrainians to raise the country's flags in the German capital on May 8th. UP writes about it.
During a commemorative event before the end of World War II in Europe, which will be held by the Ukrainian embassy, the activists will raise the flags of Ukraine, activist Alexander Snidalov, who will take part in the action on May 8, told reporters.
According to Snidalov, the action will begin on May 8 at 12.00 and will last for about an hour, during which the use of Ukrainian symbols is allowed.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andriy Melnyk confirmed to the publication that the embassy received permission for the rally with Ukrainian symbols, but does not believe that this solves the problem.
When information about this ban came out, I asked the city authorities for clarification, and I was told that this would not apply to official events with the participation of officials. We recorded only one such ceremony - at noon on May 8 in the Tiergarten, in the center of Berlin. And what about other Ukrainians? There are 15 memorials in Berlin, which means that it will be prohibited on others, he said.
This exception will also apply to the Russian embassy and actions with Russian flags, the ambassador added.
At the same time, Alexander Snidalov, a participant in the planned action, noted that Russian symbols of the war - symbols Z, V, St. George ribbons and white armbands - are prohibited throughout Berlin.
From interesting. Our volunteers organized an awerness team that was supposed to act that day, warning Ukrainians about possible provocations and telling how to behave during provocations. This team was supposed to wear pink vests. The police banned the use of pink vests, equating them with the uniform, which is also forbidden to wear on this day, Snidalov also said.
