The White House prepares for the anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine

Preparations for the anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine are in full swing at the White House and other US agencies.

Washington is preparing for the date of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, White House Speaker Karin Jean-Pierre said at a press conference.

Planning for how we will respond to the anniversary is well under way, both here at the White House and in other agencies. But as is usually the case, I will not delve into internal discussions or list any options for action that we are currently considering," the speaker said.

Earlier, the USA said that it intended to send to Ukraine an upgraded version of the M1A2 Abrams tank. Before that, White House President Joe Biden said that the USA would provide Ukraine with all the necessary means to defend itself against the aggressor. The USA remains one of Ukraine's most active allies, both in providing military and financial and humanitarian aid.

It is also known that US President Joe Biden plans to visit Europe on the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on 24 February.
