US prepares to announce Biden's final aid package for Ukraine

The US aid package will include missiles for air defence and shells for artillery.

The administration of US President Joe Biden will soon announce the latest military aid package for Kiev under the United States Assistance Initiative (USI). This is reported by Reuters, citing its own sources.

The package will include interceptor missiles for air defence and artillery shells," the agency points out.

At the same time, the exact content of the package will be known after its official announcement.

According to preliminary data, it will amount to about $1.2 billion.

The US State Department and the Pentagon declined to comment on the upcoming announcement, saying they do not discuss security aid packages before they are officially announced.

Since Russia invaded its neighbour in February 2022, the United States has allocated $175 billion in aid to Ukraine, including about $61.4 billion in security assistance, Reuters noted.
