At the beginning of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation, during the Russian shelling of Mariupol, local resident Nikolay Lazarev shot unique video footage.

Based on this footage, journalist Denis Kazansky and his team edited a documentary film.

In the spring of 2022, Nikolai's family stayed in blockaded Mariupol, which was surrounded on all sides by the Russian army and subjected to brutal shelling.

All this time Nikolay recorded the life of his family and what was happening around them on video.

The filmed footage shows burning houses, funerals in the yard of killed neighbours. It is shown how Mariupol residents eat pigeons and dig out dead people from under the ruins.

This unique video material realistically conveys the horror of the Mariupol tragedy.
