The 96-year-old Queen of Great Britain died today.
The royal family made the announcement on Twitter.
She ruled for 70 years. Now power will pass to her son, Prince Charles.
The Queen passed away peacefully this afternoon at Balmoral. The King and Queen Consort will remain at Balmoral this evening and return to London tomorrow, the statement said.
The flag is flown at half mast at Buckingham Palace. Mourning declared.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed condolences to the royal family.
