The Belgian authorities have shown a video of Ukrainian pilots training in Denmark on F-16 aircraft. This is reported by Beldefnews.
Belgian Defence Minister Ludivine Dedonder went to Denmark to meet with a detachment of fifty military personnel who are training Ukrainian military on F-16s.
The two Belgian F-16s have been on Danish soil for several days. They will be there for eight weeks to train Ukrainian pilots, technicians and mission planners.
As Minister, I am proud that our aviation component can participate in this crucial training programme for Ukrainian pilots, support and maintenance personnel. To operate the F-16 fleet, the technical part is just as important as the flying part, so the Ministry of Defence is working with our Belgian defence industry partners not only to train Ukrainian pilots, but also to provide the necessary aviation technical support," Ludivine Dedonder said.
He noted that these efforts provide a joint and successful approach to creating a modern Ukrainian Air Force capable of defending the country's population and territory in the medium and long term.
In the second half of 2024, 50 Belgian troops and two F-16s will again be stationed in Denmark.
Our allies' defence support to Ukraine is not waning. Cooperation within the Air Power coalition is excellent," the Belgian defence minister stressed.
