Ukraine's Prosecutor General says how many Bucha civilians killed by Russians


The investigation into the horrific crimes of Russians continues.
During the occupation of the Kyiv region, the Russians killed 637 civilians in Bucha. Also, 460 infrastructure facilities in the city were damaged or destroyed. This was announced by Ukrainian Prosecutor-General Andriy Kostin on Saturday, 25 November, during a commemoration of the victims of mass killings in Bucha together with Swiss President Alain Berset.
The Prosecutor General noted that the investigation into the Russian atrocities has not yet come to an end and that investigators continue to collect facts that testify to the killing of civilians by the occupants.
We have identified the units of the Russian armed forces involved in the hostilities in Buchanskiy district. 16 Russian servicemen have been reported on suspicion of committing crimes in Bucha, three indictments have been sent to court," Kostin said.
He stressed that the Russians continue to kill Ukrainians and systematically shell territories where peaceful people live.
He also expressed gratitude to the Swiss Confederation for Ukraine's support in the issue of investigating the Russians' war crimes and the general support of the people of Ukraine.
Bucha is a hero-city of Ukraine, the administrative centre of Buchanskiy rayon and Buchanskiy municipal territorial society in Kyiv region. It is known that on 25 February, the Russian military entered Bucha. Fierce fighting started there. on 8 March, Volodymyr Karplyuk - the former mayor of the neighbouring city of Irpen - said that Bucha was fully controlled by Russian troops. During the Russian occupation and invasion of Ukraine, Russian troops massacred civilians in Bucha.
