The Belgian presidency will call the first intergovernmental conferences on 25 June.
"Interfax-Ukraine quoted a European diplomat as saying that the official approval of this decision will take place within the framework of a meeting of the EU Council on economic affairs next week.
This is another historic moment and another very clear signal of our full and unwavering commitment to Ukraine," he said.
It is worth noting that Ukraine can join the EU only when it fulfils all the requirements and introduces certain European standards. At the same time, the EU ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Maternova, said earlier that Kiev was ready to start negotiations. At that time, she announced the possible start of the negotiation process in the summer of 2024.
Also, the Office of the President repeatedly spoke about the possibility of Ukraine joining the EU during the war. After all, there are no bans on the accession to the association of countries involved in a military conflict.
