Russian Federation summoned US Ambassador Lynne Tracy to the Foreign Ministry, where she said Washington was "waging a hybrid war against Russia and has effectively become a party to the conflict."

The Pentagon has said that Ukraine makes its own decisions on target selection after the Kremlin accused the USA of attacking Crimea, which Russia said was carried out with the help of US ATACMS missiles supplied to Ukraine. This was reported by Reuters on 24 June.

Ukraine makes its own decisions on strikes and conducts its own military operations," Pentagon spokesman Charlie Dietz said.

He stated that any loss of civilian life is a tragedy.

'That certainly includes the thousands of innocent Ukrainians who have been killed by Russian forces since the beginning of this Russian war of aggression,' the Pentagon spokesman said.

Russian officials said at least two children were killed in Sunday's attack on Sevastopol. Russian Federation said the weapons were supplied to Ukraine by the United States and that US military experts had targeted the missiles.
