Ukraine launched a mobile application on mine safety

In Ukraine, the MineFree application has been launched, created to increase the level of protection of civilians from dangerous explosive devices.
This was reported in the State Service of Ukraine for Emergency Situations.
"MineFree" (No mines) is a mobile application developed by volunteers of the Swiss charitable organization Free Ukraine (Free Ukraine) with the support of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine. The purpose of "MineFree" is to increase the level of protection of the civilian population from dangerous explosive devices, the possibility of reporting the discovery of the ammunition, and informing about territories that pose a potential threat to the people, the State Emergency Service says.
Thanks to the MineFree application, everyone who installs it on their smartphone in Ukraine will be able to:
- view a map showing potentially dangerous territories, according to the State Emergency Service;
Receive a notification in case of approaching a dangerous object;
Get acquainted with the directory of the State Emergency Service, which contains a photo and description of explosive objects;
Notify about the detection of explosive or suspicious items.
The application has developed a unique electronic foruniqueegistered users with a photo, description, address, and geolocation. This information is immediately sent to the rescuers, which ensures a prompt response from the State Emergency Service and the subsequent neutralization of such items - they talk about the operation of the application in the State Emergency Service.
More about the functionality can be found at www.minefree.info.
The app can be downloaded from the App Store and Google Play.
The State Emergency Service also reminded us about the importance of being more careful and the rules of behavior with unknown objects.
Since the beginning of the Russian aggression, the employees of the State Emergency Service have seized more than 176,000 explosive items on the territory of our state. However, despite the efforts of rescuers, more than 30% of the part of Ukraine is now considered potentially contaminated by various ammunition and explosive devices. Every day, residents of cities and towns are exposed to danger due to explosives or weapons left or used by the enemy on the streets, roads, forests, fields, rivers, lakes, etc. Many are returning to their homes and places, but living conditions have changed, and this must be remembered, the State Emergency Service reminded.
