Ukraine-EU security agreement may be signed in the coming days - mass media

The parties worked on the text of the agreement for several months.

Ukraine and the EU may sign a security agreement as early as next week. DW reported this on Friday, 21 June, citing a senior official in Brussels.

In addition to military assistance, the treaty covers financial support, European integration and other areas of co-operation.

It is pointed out that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is expected to sign the document.

The newspaper also notes that the EU is considering options for toughening sanctions against Russia. They are to discuss them on 24 June in Luxembourg.

It is known that the negotiating teams of Ukraine and the EU have finalised the text of the security agreement and agreed to sign it. The work on the document lasted for several months.

Just to remind you, Ukraine and the USA signed an agreement on security guarantees. In total, Ukraine has already signed 16 security deals: with the UK, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, Finland, Latvia, Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Sweden, Iceland and Norway.
