Ukraine asks neighboring countries to tell how much money Ukrainians took out

In a short period of time, impressive amounts were exported from Ukraine.
The state authorities of Ukraine turned to neighboring countries with a request to provide information about the money of citizens who left during the war. Director of the Bureau of Economic Security Vadim Melnyk told about this in an interview with LIGA.net .
According to him, requests were sent to Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary, Moldova. He also noted that the authorities of these countries still have not given an answer.
There will be questions to those who did not declare their export from Ukraine, but declared them when they were imported into European countries and thus legalized the money. If the money was exported in volumes that were never declared by their owner, the question arises about the origin of the funds. And this is a criminal proceeding,” Melnik said.
At the same time, he noted that not all refugees will "look into the pocket."
We have set a threshold for the declared amount, the owners of which are of interest to us, and we ask you to provide information on them. I'm sorry, but I won't say what the threshold is, - said Melnik.
According to him, BEB has information that in the first month of the war alone, more than 1 billion euros were taken out of Ukraine “in suitcases”.
