Ukrainian products go to Europe through Romania.
Ukraine has agreed on the transit of pork and beef meat through the EU. It is reported by Mniagropolitiki of Ukraine.
The ministry explained that due to Russian aggression, Ukraine had lost its traditional sea routes for exporting its products and was now forced to look for new ones.
As a result of negotiations with the European Commission and EU member states, these conditions have been updated. In particular, an agreement was reached on the transit of Ukrainian products by ferry through the Romanian checkpoint Isachea-Orlovka, the ministry explained.
They noted that now through Romania towards the EU will be sent: pork and beef, as well as meat products and composite products from these types of meat, processed in accordance with the BF processing categories (in accordance with paragraph 1 of Annex XXVI to Regulation (EC) No. 2020/429).
Since Ukraine is not authorized to export these types of goods to the EU in terms of passing the country's animal health audit, as an exception during martial law and the deblockade of Ukrainian ports, transit is allowed exclusively through the ports of Romania, the ministry added.
Cargoes to be sent by Ukraine must meet the following requirements:
- be accompanied by an international veterinary certificate required by the importing country (country of destination);
- be transported in closed containers according to the capacities of origin to the importing country (destination countries);
- the market operator must notify the relevant border control point in advance of the entry of such consignments by filling in the first part 1 of the common entry health document (CHED-P) through the EU information system - TRACES NT;
- be brought into and out of the EU through approved border controls.
Entry and transit through the EU is carried out exclusively through approved border crossing points (BCP) for certain categories of goods.
Almost 70 vessels are blocked in the seaports of Ukraine, six foreign-flagged vessels are blocked in the Mariupol seaport. Ukraine does not control four ports: Mariupol, Berdyansk, Skadovsk and Kherson.
