Two-year-old child of Ukrainian refugee stabbed to death in Israel

On 28 December, a man attacked with a knife a two-year-old child, who was being carried in a pram by his mother, on a street in the city of Lod in Israel. This is reported by The Times of Israel.

The suspect said he heard "voices" before committing the crime.

The baby was taken to Assaf Arofeh Medical Centre in critical condition with stab wounds to the head. Doctors were unable to save his life and declared him dead," the publication reported.

The man was arrested. The police noted that, contrary to the initial version, the suspect has no family connection to the victim.

Newsru.co.il reports that the boy's mother, who repatriated from Ukraine less than a year ago, and the suspect were acquainted and there was a conflict between them. The woman filed a police complaint against him about a month ago.

The attack on the child took place near a mobile phone shop owned by the suspect.
