Trump's vice presidential candidate Vance mocked Harris for not having children and got caught up in the scandal

Vance considers Democrats a "bunch of cat people."
Republican vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance said that politicians should have children, otherwise they are not interested in the future of the country. This is reported by the BBC.
The agency points out that journalists recalled the senator's interview in 2021, when he called Democratic politicians "a bunch of childless catwomen with miserable lives". Vance did not refute his words, moreover, he confirmed that he has not changed his position and said that only those who have children should be engaged in politics.
At the same time, he pointed out that his statement was sarcastic, "but it doesn't change the essence".
The simple point I was trying to make is that having children, becoming a father, becoming a mother, does change the perspective quite dramatically," Vance said. - I argue that our whole society has become sceptical and even hateful of the idea of having children.
In a 2021 interview with former Fox News host Tucker Carlson, Wiens questioned why some high-profile Democratic politicians don't have children. Among them, he named Kamala Harris, the likely Democratic nominee in the November election, who is raising her husband Doug Emhoff rather than her own children.
The entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children,'' Vance said. - What is the point of putting our country in the hands of people who really have no direct interest in its future?" the politician said at the time.
Explaining his words to reporters three years ago, Vance indicated that he believes childlessness puts a mark on Democrats, who he believes "have policies that hurt children."
Vance's words sparked a flurry of criticism against him. In particular, Hollywood star Jennifer Aniston, who has had trouble having children of her own, said she couldn't believe such words were said by the vice-presidential candidate.
All I can say is Mr Vance, I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to have children of her own someday. I hope she doesn't have to seek IVF treatment," Aniston wrote. - Because you're trying to take even that away from her," she wrote, drawing attention to the fact that Vance voted to block the Democrats' proposed legislation to guarantee access to IVF nationwide.
Note that Vance has a two-year-old daughter and two sons.
