Trial of the Russian military: the occupier apologized for the murder of a civilian

The case of Russian sergeant Vadim Shishimarin, accused of violating the laws and customs of war, connected with the deliberate murder of a civilian, continues.
I would like to once again apologize for what I did. I do not refuse and I am ready to take all the measures that will be, - said Shishimarin in his last word.
The lawyer asks to acquit the defendant, explaining that he "formally followed the order to shoot and hoped that he would not hit." The prosecution is asking for 10 to 15 years in prison or life imprisonment.
According to Suspіlne , Shishimarin's verdict will be announced on May 23.
Recall that the murder took place on February 28 in the village of Chupakhivka, Sumy region. Vadim Shishimarin and four other colleagues fled after their column was broken. They fired machine guns at a private car and appropriated it. On the way, the invaders saw an unarmed villager who was walking along the roadside with a bicycle and talking on the phone. The defendant killed a 62-year-old man by shooting him in the head.
