The trend for "salty" fragrances: sea-scented perfumes

Fragrances with salty notes, reminiscent of the sea and the beach, are becoming a new fashion trend.
Unlike the usual floral or sweet perfumes, these perfumes offer a different emotion: the feeling of warm sun, salt water and sea breeze lingering in the hair, writes Harper's Bazaar India.
Such compositions rarely attract attention immediately, because they do not have the typical notes of rose, bergamot or vanilla. Instead, they use unusual components including aqua notes, salt, seaweed and even cypress. These notes seem bold and unconventional, but in practice they create a memorable yet natural fragrance.
Aqua notes
These are also called "marine" or "ozone" notes. They are created with special synthetic molecules that convey a sense of freshness and coolness. It is the smell of clean air before a thunderstorm or the first seconds after diving into the sea. Aqua notes make the fragrances light and invigorating, instantly evoking associations with summer holidays.
What it smells like: fresh, clean, clear, with a slight cooling effect.
Seaweed
This note, although not the most popular, perfectly balances the freshness of aqua notes. Seaweed adds depth and a touch of mystery to fragrances, conveying the impression of swimming in a secluded cove among wet rocks and coastal plants. If used carefully, they produce a very subtle and attractive scent.
What it smells like: green, brackish, a little "umami", with a slight sea bitterness.
Sea salt
Sea salt has become the symbol of modern "salty" perfumes. It is the one that conveys the mineralised scent that is left on the skin after swimming in the ocean. Sea salt perfectly complements floral and musky notes, making the fragrance more natural and believable.
What it smells like: dry, mineral, slightly metallic, like dried drops of sea water on the skin.
Cypress
This note brings contrast and sophistication to "nautical" fragrances. Cypress adds a woody freshness to compositions, reminiscent of the smell of a forest on the coast. The light spicy and woody touch makes the fragrance more mature and noble.
What it smells like: green, woody, slightly dry, like the scent of pine needles warmed by the sun.
Finding the perfect "salty" fragrance is not easy, because you need to find the balance that makes you feel at the sea, even when you are far away from it. Salty perfumes do not declare themselves loudly, but remain in the memory, reminding of pleasant moments near the ocean.
Among the most interesting and popular salty perfumes stand out:
Jo Malone London Wood Sage & Sea Salt
Tom Ford Costa Azzurra
Maison Margiela Replica Beach Walk
Banana Republic Cypress Cedar
Rockaway Beach by DS Durga and Co
These fragrances are perfect for those who want to bring the lightness and freshness of a seaside holiday into their everyday life.
