The death of journalist Viktoria Roshchina confirmed: what is known

The information about the death of Ukrainian journalist Viktoriya Roshchyna, who previously worked for hromadske and was captured by the Russians, has been confirmed. This was announced by Petro Yatsenko, a representative of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, during a telethon.

Circumstances of death

At the moment, the details of Victoria Roschina's death remain unknown, as the circumstances of her death are still being established. However, Yatsenko noted that if the perpetrators are identified, they will be punished. He also confirmed that Roschina was being prepared for a prisoner exchange, but her transfer from Taganrog to Moscow was a stage of preparation for her release, and, unfortunately, the team did not have time to complete the process.

Victoria Roschina's death was first learnt by her father, who received information from Russian sources. At that time, the data was still being verified.

Recall that Victoria's father said that the death of his daughter occurred during the transfer from Taganrog to Moscow. Victoria Roshchina was captured by Russian troops in August 2023 in the temporarily occupied territories. In May 2024, Russia confirmed for the first time that the journalist was being held captive.
